I feel like I've written this post before. You know those times in life when you have a grand plan to "get it together" and you're motivated and raring to go and then life throws you a curveball? That. That is this week.
If I'm being perfectly honest here, I've never jumped back into the whole "cleaning routine" thing since Will was born. And my family might say I've never jumped into the whole "cleaning routine" thing since I was born. :) They might be correct. I need a list. And a plan. And the motivation. And that was what I had this week.
James was gone to my mom's until Monday afternoon. I worked around the house on Monday morning and got a few projects taken care of. Then Tuesday he was feeling cruddy and we laid low and I got a few more things taken care of, knowing that ultimately I'd have Wednesday and Friday when he's in preschool to get the big stuff done.
And then this happened:
That, my friends, is pinkeye. And it's in both of those eyes. And I fear that in the morning it will also be in Will's eyes. It makes me want to rub my eyes just looking at it.
We didn't send him to school today because he wasn't feeling well (good thing we didn't since this showed up around lunch), we're obviously missing Bible study tomorrow, and we may also be missing Snowman Day at school on Friday. Booo. If Will is sick we'll miss out on some fun we had planned on Saturday. Double booo.
Unfortunately, this is just a part of life. I'm hoping and praying that the eye drops that the nurse so graciously called in for us so that we didn't have to go to the pediatrician will do the trick overnight and clear that mess up. Until then, we're washing, washing, and washing our hands.
Throwing the list out the window this week! I'll try again next week!
